The Class of 2014 took a bite of the Big Apple during the annual fifth grade trip to New York City. After weeks of preparation, learning everything from the navigating the streets and railways to the proper way to hail a taxi, the students were anxious to test out their knowledge. ![]() The excitement started the second the group arrived in New York City when they ate at the StarDust restaurant, where the kids got to sing and dance along with the karaoke-performing waiters and waitresses. The fun never really stopped during the trip, as the students attended the Phantom of the Opera, toured the Metropolitan Museum of Art and capped it all off with the much-anticipated Amazing Race. The race proved to be the highlight for many during the trip, as teams of one staff member and three students raced around the city completing tasks and challenges.
Good luck and fortune were also on the side of the RCA during the trip, as the students got a chance to see President Obama pass by on his trip to Ground Zero to lay a wreath at the site. The trip provided countless memories and experiences that will stay with the students throughout their lives!
