RCA Basketball Team Pulls First Win of the Season

On Friday, December 2, the Ron Clark Academy Blue Dragons Basketball team started their new season with a win! The gym was full of RCA spirit as students, staff, and parents donned brand new Blue Dragon t-shirts and led cheers in support of the basketball team.  

As the crowd roared, the players landed shot after shot and lay-up after lay-up, and by the end of game, RCA defeated Atlanta Prep Academy 38-18.

This year’s team is lead by RCA staff members Lazarus Bruner, P.E. instructor; Kenneth Adams, student services coordinator; and Mehari Kassa, director of admissions. For the second year, RCA is participating in the Luke Sports League that includes seven charter schools from metro Atlanta. This season, the RCA basketball season will follow the following schedule:

8:45 - Friday, December 16^th: vs. KIPP Vision Academy at McClarin High School

7:30 – Friday, January 6^th: vs. KIPP Strive Academy at KIPP

7:30 – Friday, January 13^th: vs. KIPP WAYS Academy at Big Miller Grove

8:45 – Friday, January 20^th: vs. KIPP South Fulton at McClarin High School

7:30 – Friday, January 27^th: vs. DeKalb Academy at Big Miller

 6:45 – Friday, February 3^rd: vs. Atlanta Neighborhood at McClarin High School

6:45 – Friday, February 10^th: vs. Wesley International at McClarin High School
