Educator's Conference - Passport to Education
Educators’ Conference – Passport to Education RCA hosted its first Educators’ Conference this winter, and it was a big success! During the weekend of February 1-3, 2008 attendees from across the country (and globe) gathered at the Atlanta Marriott Marquis Hotel in downtown for the first Passport to Education- Educators’ Conference. With more than 200 registered teachers/educators in attendance, the Academy was very pleased with this inaugural event, which raised about $40,000 for the school. Teachers from across the country and world, including attendees from Cypress and Australia, participated in this unique 2-day conference.
The conference began with a Kick-off Movie Night, in which attendees mingle, viewed The Ron Clark Story, and heard a keynote address from Ron Clark. The following day, attendees split their time between concurrent workshops held at the hotel and visits/tours to The RCA campus. Saturday evening, the RCA staff hosted a special Prom Night for all conference attendees. This was our way of saying thank you to our guests. The evening consisted of dancing, dining, picture posing, and prize give-aways, including: roundtrip Delt Air Lines tickets. RCA even selected a Prom Queen and King for the night. Finally, the conference ended with a Continental breakfast and debrief on Sunday morning. Our next Educators’ Conference is scheduled for June 6-8, 2008 – Atlanta Marriott Marquis!
